The webinar provides advanced tips on how to conduct methodical searches of major citation databases, how citation metrics function in research, and how to maintain your researcher profile.

What topics will be covered?

We will look at key citation databases (Web of Science, Scopus, Open Alex, Scite_) and discuss their respective uses, advantages, and disadvantages in relation to specific tasks: such as searching for literature when writing a literature review or the dissertation state-of-the-art, identifying seminal papers, searching for journals and researchers, and maintaining a researcher profile.This webinar will introduce you to the essentials. We will address questions such as:

• Why stick to searching the Web of Science and Scopus?
• What kind of metrics to use (and how) to evaluate and compare journals?
• How can you enhance your traditional search using AI?
• But also, why you shouldn’t leave everything to AI just yet.
• How to maintain your profile on the Web of Science and Scopus and avoid the most common pitfalls.
